Roles & Responsibilities

The Universal American School, celebrating its 50th year as a non-profit, private, co-educational, college-preparatory day school serving an international student body of approximately 1730 Pre-School-12 students. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the school is located on a two-acre site in Hawally, a suburb of Kuwait City.


UAS offers an American, student-centered academic program, enhanced with a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) options. Extra-curricular offerings include student government, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, drama, art, computer, and sustainability. Additionally, a variety of athletics (basketball, swimming, soccer, volleyball, badminton, and track & field), and the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) round out a well-balanced learning community.


Our facility features swimming pools, an indoor gymnasium, a 320-seat auditorium, a well-equipped health clinic, and four high school and two middle school science labs. The school utilizes a wireless technology environment with a well-developed Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.

  • 2+ years

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Teaching Credential/License

Additional School Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution
  • The school prefers to hire teachers with advanced degrees and at least two (2) years of full-time teaching experience
  • Valid passport up to 3 years
  • Official degrees and their transcripts
  • Valid teaching certificate
  • An official copy of previous teaching experience letters, clearly stating the length of years of experience
  • Must be under the age of 60 due to VISA requirement
  • Must have a clean FBI Report/ Background Check
  • (Please check the Kuwait Embassy for Work VISA requirements)
