Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Implement all livelihoods, education, and social cohesion activities with migrants at IOM s Dispositif d'Accueil pour le Retour Volontaire (DARV) protection and transit centre.
Coordinate livelihoods and education activities for Algerian returnees.
Conduct assessments including labor market assessments in Algeria and countries of return and supply chain mapping, under the guidance of the Protection Officer.
Support the formalisation of IOM s collaboration with the Ministry of Vocational Training through Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and Project Implementation Agreements (PIAs) and follow up on their implementation.
Support the establishment of equipped learning labs at IOM centres.
Conduct mapping of service providers and consultants for vocational training, on-job-training, job placement, soft skills, and educational activities.
Identify and coordinate with potential private companies for the implementation of job placements, and on the job training.
Support appropriate selection of project beneficiaries by supporting outreach, registration, verification, skills mapping, Curriculum Vitae (CV) writing, and supporting applicants to draft business and expansion plans.
Support beneficiaries by facilitating orientation meetings, business trainings, and/or one to-one counselling sessions as necessary and support them in the formulation of their business plans.
Coordinate with reintegration team for finalizing the Individual Reintegration Plan (IRP) of beneficiaries and support the implementation of reintegration assistance upon return.
Coordinate with countries of origin for equivalence of certifications issued in Algeria.
Support diaspora mapping and engagement initiatives.
Support the Reintegration Unit in the planning and implementation of community-based reintegration models in pilot countries.
Support the facilitation of pathways for labour mobility and coordinate with stakeholders.
Monitor the progress through weekly checks with beneficiaries and vendors/ implementing partners.
Monitor impact of activities.
Organize and conduct satisfaction and feedback surveys in order to improve future livelihoods projects.
Contribute to the review and drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, processes, templates, and technical guidance related to Livelihood activities.
Facilitate job matching initiatives and strengthen migrant and returnee inclusion.
Monitor targets and achievements in accordance with different projects and work plans and report progress to the Head of Programme.
Organise and support technical meetings to facilitate dialogue and collaboration in the Trans-Sahel region.
Support coordination with United Nation (UN) agencies in Algeria, under the umbrella of the United Nations Network on Migration (UNNM).
Coordinate capacity-building activities for government officials, together with respective Project Managers.
Coordinate with Migration Governance Indicators (MGI) consultant on follow up with the Government of Algeria.
Contribute to the development of South-South Cooperation models and share best practices.
Coordinate with caseworkers and Information Management (IM) unit to maintain up-to-date and accurate beneficiary data in the IOM Portal.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
