Roles & Responsibilities

Contribute with the manager in the development and implementation of strategies, policies, standards, programmes, budget and operating plans for the Section and provide input regarding activities or services in need of improvement. Responsible for supervising the activities of the routine tasks. Supervising all daily activities, procedures and processes taking place in the mortuary 24/7.

Development of overall plans Assist the manager in the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of mortuary initiatives, plans and programmes and ensure alignment with SEHA policies.

Actively participate in the development of Mortuary projects.

Communication Collaborate with various key stakeholders in the community to ensure effectiveness of mortuary related activities.

Coordinate with local authorities (DOH, Ministry of Health, Abu Dhabi Police, etc...) with regards to any issues related to mortuary service activities.

Quality Control Provide technical training and guidance to staff members on a scheduled basis regarding mortuary activities.

Supervise the archiving of all mortuary related documents in coordination with staff in the Sections.

Ensure that all staff and external stakeholders are complying with SEHA policies and standards in regards of mortuary activities.

Ensure death notification reports are accurate and complying with the ICD -10 recommendation

Monitor external stakeholder s utilization; establish work schedules and assignments for staff according to resources.

Sustain effective communications and reporting at all times.

Ensuring IT business functions during duty hours are maintained, restored or improved.

Establishing structured communication with all SEHA BEs to report current facility status.

Supervise activities performed by staff and ensure they are completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner;

Provide technical advice, training and guidance to staff members on a daily basis regarding mortuary activities and provide advice and training if requested

Maintain confidentiality of all matters related to the operations and activities of the Mortuary Section according to SEHA policy and regulation

Health and safety Ensure that the health and safety related activities conducted by staff complying with SEHA policies and standards.

Ensure that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are established and maintained in the mortuary at all times

Maintain infection control management in mortuary department.

Notify all staff and the external stakeholders in regard of infectious cadaver cases.

Status and Performance Reports Perform periodic performance appraisals for the staff and evaluate them accordingly.

Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
