Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities:-
- Conduct basic analysis of clay and colloidal chemistry to support mud system stability.
- Assist in data acquisition, preparation of GTO, and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and maintain properties of different mud systems (WBM/OBM).
- Ensure mud functions, composition & properties meet drilling program requirements.
- Identify and report drilling complications such as mud loss, torque increase, and instability.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and update drilling parameters.
- Support operations with exploratory, development, vertical & high-angle wells.
- Operate and maintain solids control equipment.
- Handle basic completion fluids and assist in fluid preparation.
- Follow safety protocols, use PPE correctly, and work safely in H S environment.
- Maintain proper documentation, MSDS awareness, and cost-quality-time discipline.
- Apply understanding of drill strings and tubular equipment used in drilling operations.
- Support casing, cementing, and logging operations with fluid requirements.
- Assist in cased-hole logging and perforation operations by maintaining fluid integrity.
- Provide technical support for horizontal & multilateral drilling operations.
- Manage drilling fluids for onshore, offshore, and deep-water operations.
- Handle challenging HTHP well drilling environments.
- Implement practices for drill waste management & site-track wells.
- Manage clean brine systems and ensure proper fluid selection.
- Independently handle complications such as mud loss, stuck pipe, torque/drag, & kicks.
- Maintain case history documentation for wells with complications (minimum 5 wells).
- Supervise fluid performance in high-pressure drilling operations.
- Provide expert-level interpretation of mud, clay & colloidal chemistry.
- Interpret caliper logs for accurate hole-volume calculations.
- Analyze CBL-VDL logs and understand open-hole VSP operations.
- Support directional drilling through knowledge of S-shape & L-shape wells.
- Assist in designing directional tools, assemblies, and BHA selections.
- Prepare, execute, and monitor comprehensive Mud Programs.
- Lead full-cycle inventory management of chemicals and drilling materials.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to the Company Man for critical operations.
- Maintain case history of minimum 7 wells with complex drilling-fluid challenges.
- Manage budgeting, cost optimization, contracts, and conflict resolution.
