Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging music lessons for students in accordance with the school s curriculum and educational philosophy.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and a love for music.
  • Teach students to read music, understand musical theory, and develop proficiency with various instruments and vocal techniques.
  • Organize and lead school performances, concerts, and musical events to showcase student talent and promote community involvement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain classroom instruments and resources, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, bands, or ensembles.
  • Stay current with developments in music education and incorporate new teaching strategies and technologies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming events.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 5 years of experience teaching music at the elementary or secondary school level.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of musical styles, instruments, and vocal techniques.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for fostering creativity and musical appreciation in students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Experience organizing and directing student performances or musical events.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in music education.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into music instruction.
