Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach Music as a specialist subject, delivering a broad and creative curriculum that nurtures confidence, performance skills, and musical appreciation. You will play a key role in shaping the Music provision at the school, raising standards, monitoring pupil progress, and contributing to concerts, assemblies and events. A commitment to pastoral care, high expectations, and active involvement in extra-curricular life is essential.
This role requires a teacher who is committed to developing pupils academically, socially, and personally ensuring each child achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver a broad, balanced and engaging Music curriculum.
- Contribute to curriculum planning at long-, medium- and short-term levels.
- Create high-quality lessons that enable pupils to reach their full potential.
- Maintain excellent classroom discipline in line with school policies.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
- Set challenging targets and use data to inform planning.
- Provide regular verbal and written feedback to pupils.
- Communicate effectively with parents when required.
- Support SEN and EAL pupils in line with school policy.
- Contribute to the school s extra-curricular programme (ECAs), including music clubs, choirs, performances and productions.

Pastoral Responsibilities
- Support pupils social, emotional and physical development.
- Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes as required.

- Maintain high standards of hygiene and personal conduct.
- Apply school rewards and sanctions consistently and fairly.
Management & Organisation
- Maintain a purposeful, safe and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and maintain regular communication.
- Follow all school procedures including Health & Safety, fire evacuation and safeguarding.
- Liaise with colleagues on curriculum matters and pupil progress.
Wider School Involvement
- Register pupil attendance daily.
- Organise and participate in educational visits where appropriate.
- Support school events, including concerts, performances and showcases.
- Attend staff meetings, briefings and CPD sessions.
- Participate in duty rotas and House events.
- Uphold high professional standards in dress, conduct and punctuality.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to whole-school improvement.
Safeguarding
- Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Report concerns promptly and professionally.
- Engage fully in safeguarding training.
Professional Expectations
- Uphold and promote the school s vision, values and culture, including local Saudi cultural expectations.
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct, integrity, punctuality and presentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to school development and CPD.
- Ensure full compliance with all safeguarding and child protection requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor s Degree in Music. (Essential).
- PGCE (or equivalent) if B.Ed not held (Essential).
- Qualified Teacher Status (Essential).
- Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience (Essential).
- Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum (Essential).
- Experience in Music curriculum development (Essential)
- A proven ability to inspire, motivate, and engage pupils of all abilities (Essential).
- Strong classroom management and pastoral skills (Essential).
- Experience working with EAL learners (Desirable).
- An understanding of the expectations of UK independent and international schools (Desirable).
