Roles & Responsibilities


Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • Master s degree in economics or related fields, public policy, social policy, development studies, public administration, political science, or a closely related field.

Years of Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

The position requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in social policy, public finance, and / or social protection is a mandatory requirement, in addition to a strong familiarity with Lebanon s socio economic and institutional context. Demonstrated experience in engaging with government counterparts on policy dialogue, reform processes, and coordination is required.

Work Experience:

  • Strong analytical capacity in public and social policy including public expenditure analysis, fiscal policy, and macro-economic policy is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in social protection systems and child poverty analysis is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of Lebanon s socio economic and institutional context, including national reform priorities and the National Social Protection Strategy is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with government counterparts and development partners on policy dialogue, reform design, and coordination is highly desirable.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:

  • Proven ability to conduct policy analysis and produce high quality analytical outputs, including policy briefs and technical notes.
  • Ability to translate data and evidence into actionable policy recommendations to inform decision making.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to convey complex technical content to diverse audiences.

Desirables:

  • Experience with UN agencies, international financial institutions, government entities, and / or development partners is an asset.
