Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and analyze FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) boats and yachts, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with international marine classification and regulatory standards.

  2. Prepare 3D models, detailed production drawings, and assembly plans using SolidWorks (mandatory).

  3. Develop laminate schedules and perform structural calculations for hulls, decks, and superstructures using FRP materials.

  4. Conduct hydrodynamic analysis and performance evaluations (including CFD where applicable) to optimize vessel stability, speed, fuel efficiency, and seaworthiness.

  5. Prepare detailed technical documentation and specifications for new builds, refits, and repairs.

  6. Coordinate closely with production, quality control, and project management teams to ensure efficient execution from concept to final delivery.

  7. Provide technical support during mold development, lamination, outfitting, and sea trials.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in FRP boat or yacht building.

  3. Proven hands-on experience in SolidWorks is mandatory.

  4. Strong knowledge of composite materials, laminate design, and marine structural standards.

  5. Experience working with classification societies and marine regulatory compliance is highly preferred.

  6. A Master’s degree or additional specialization in yacht/composite design will be an advantage.
