Role: Network Engineer

Job Description

• Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure components and systems which include

wired and wireless network, voice systems.

• Configures and deploys network infrastructure devices including routers, switches,

phones and other hardware.

• Configuration and Management of firewalls, NAC systems.
• Manages and administers wireless network components wireless controller and access

points using Cisco wireless software application and diagnostics software.

• Supports development and implementation of network infrastructure projects and new

technology installations.

• Manages and administers VoIP system using Cisco / Avaya and recording software,

voicemail, gateways.

• Utilizes various network infrastructure software applications to monitor, analyze,

configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure components as needed.

• Monitors and tests network infrastructure performance and provides performance

statistics and reports.

• Administers all network infrastructure equipment upgrades.
• Practice asset management including maintenance of network infrastructure component

inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

• Responds to network infrastructure outages in accordance with business continuity and

disaster recovery plans.

• Plans and implements any improvement, modification, upgrades, or replacement of

network infrastructure components.

• Responsible for deploying network and associated systems in petrochemical plant

environment as per requirements.

• Work on and deliver special projects with other departments and related work as and

when required.

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in Networking domain.
• Must have experience working in the Oil and Gas sector and have undergone training

and/or have HSE certifications from the Oil and Gas sector for those training.

• Cisco Certification in Networking, security mandatory.
• Cisco network and voice systems experience.
• Understanding of voice, data & video Quality of Service (QoS).
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols including all standards of 802:11a/b/g/N/A.C and

other supporting protocols including DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS,

VPN, ACL s, LDAP etc.

• Network capacity planning, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Thorough knowledge of Network Management Systems.
• Fundamental experience in firewalls and its security features of IPS, IDS, AV, Anti-Spoof,

DDoS etc.

• IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
• Experience in designing and implementation enterprise level wireless system.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Wireless LAN (WLAN) such as Wireless LAN Controllers,

indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi Access points, Mobility Anchor, Antennas, 802.1X and authentication

Protocol (EAP).

• Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Edge, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in problem solving and able to follow a systematic troubleshooting approach.
• Self-starter and display the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and be capable of working in an environment where

work priorities can change rapidly.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in working with technical and non-

technical people.

• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an

organization.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and a demonstrated willingness

to support team on all levels to get the job done.

• Prefer to have a valid Qatar Driver s license.
