Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret cost data to identify areas for improvement in production processes and overall profitability, providing actionable insights to management.
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems, ensuring accuracy and relevance to current operational activities, and facilitating effective performance measurement.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting closings, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis, ensuring adherence to Nigerian accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze manufacturing overhead and variance reports, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actions to enhance cost control.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
- Holds a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment in Nigeria.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of Nigerian accounting principles (e.g., IFRS) and relevant tax regulations.
- Exhibits proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) to manage cost data.
