Roles & Responsibilities
Position Summary
A Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the overnight shift, ensuring accurate accounting of daily financial transactions, handling guest services, and maintaining the safety and security of the property. This dual-role combines front desk responsibilities with end-of-day financial reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Front Desk Operations (Overnight)
Greet and assist guests with late check-ins, early departures, or overnight inquiries.
Perform standard front desk duties such as check-in/check-out, room assignment, and processing payments.
Respond to guest requests, complaints, and emergencies professionally and efficiently.
2. Financial Reconciliation
Balance the hotel s daily financial transactions and revenue.
Audit and verify all charges, postings, and entries from the day shift.
Prepare detailed audit reports, including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and miscellaneous income.
Correct errors in postings or discrepancies in billing and resolve with appropriate departments.
3. Reporting
Generate daily financial reports for management, including occupancy summaries, financial summaries, and shift logs.
Submit reports to accounting and front office management per hotel policy.
Record and report any unusual occurrences or incidents during the shift.
4. Security and Safety
Monitor guest and property security during overnight hours.
Conduct routine inspections of the hotel lobby, entrances, and emergency exits.
Ensure guest areas are clean, quiet, and secure.
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in hotel management is preferred.
Previous experience in front office or night audit roles is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems and front desk software
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, stay alert, and manage time effectively during overnight hours
