Roles & Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of LPG/NG systems, equipment, and facilities. This includes managing installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities


• Supervise and ensure the efficient operation of LPG/NG distribution systems, storage tanks, pipelines, and associated equipment.

• Monitor system performance and address operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.

• Plan and coordinate routine inspections, calibrations, and performance testing of LPG/NG systems.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for LPG/NG installations.

• Conduct technical inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of faulty equipment (e.g., regulators, vaporizers, valves, meters, pipelines).

• Respond to emergency situations and breakdowns, ensuring rapid restoration of services.

• Ensure spare parts and tools are available to handle maintenance activities efficiently.

• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, including UAE Fire and Safety Codes and other relevant industry standards (e.g., ADNOC, DM).

• Implement and promote safety procedures for LPG/NG system operation, maintenance, and emergency response.

• Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation plans for LPG/NG installations.

• Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies to ensure periodic testing and certification of LPG/NG systems.

• Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of new LPG/NG systems, including storage and distribution pipelines for residential and commercial clients.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors during installation projects.

• Ensure installations adhere to engineering specifications and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, system performance, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance.

• Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, maintenance work, and improvement recommendations for management review.

• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on LPG/NG systems, ensuring their understanding of safe operation and maintenance procedures.

• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment, materials, and services.

• Supervise and guide the operations and maintenance team, providing training, mentoring, and performance management as needed.

• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop training plans for team members to enhance their skills.

• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among the team.

• Be available on call 24/7 to handle emergency cases and calls from customer care.

• Handle inquiries and correspondence from internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.

• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate activities and ensure seamless workflow.

• Facilitate communication between departments, sharing relevant information, and addressing interdepartmental queries or requests in a timely manner.

• Support the department as a delegation while any team member goes on leave as per the instructions from the line manager

• Support cross-functional initiatives and projects as directed by management, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

• Adhere to the Company policies, processes, procedures & safety standards.

Qualification requirement:

Education Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / petroleum / chemical/ Instrumentation, or a related field.

Experience: 4 to 8 years’ experience as an Operations & Maintenance Engineer preferably from LPG Central Gas distribution Industry

Skills: • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Project Management software.

• Strong understanding of Civil Defense regulations, safety regulations, and risk assessment procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile


  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the LPG industry, preferably in Operations & Maintenance.
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (mandatory).
  • Technical Skills:
    Strong knowledge of LPG systems, equipment, and safety standards.
    Hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection of LPG plants and related facilities.
    Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of UAE regulations and international safety standards applicable to the LPG sector.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, leadership, and effective communication skills.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work under pressure, manage teams, and ensure compliance with HSE guidelines.
