Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Reviews ridership data and determines optimum operating plans and schedules. Prepares detailed operating schedules based on this data, for normal operation as well as special events.
Works with Control Centre and Passenger Service personnel to evaluate and modify operating schedules.
Prepares detailed operating procedures based on an in-depth knowledge of the automatic train control system.
Coordinates the production of revisions to the Rule Book and Operations Manuals.
Prepares monthly schedule plans to reflect:
- service operations
- special events
- holiday operations
Prepares special Event Bulletins for events requiring additional service, fare collection, and/or other exceptions to normal operations.
Does monthly processing of fare and ridership statistics and participates in any fare changes or modifications.
Develops programs to measure items such as on-time performance, schedule adherence, passenger loading, service reliability, kilometers between service interruptions and any other statistical analysis leading to improved quality of service.
Produces notices for the public on any holiday and special service running.
Provides statistics on a monthly basis regarding service operations to include any anomalies as well as the rationale behind them.
Updates the train schedules as required, including design of schedule patterns, testing of schedule changes, and transmittal of documentation to the Control Centre.
Reviews and processes any ATC system anomaly reports received from the Control Centre, analyzing the problem, interpreting or advising as appropriate.
Develops a recommended plan for specific contractor action.
Provides feedback to the Control Centre through notices and/or updates to the Control Centre manual or ATC constraints list.
Analyzes passenger loading to determine optimum train headway scheduling, especially in the peak periods.
Ensures the ATC schedule maximizes availability.
Calculates daily, weekly and monthly availability and assists in the evaluation of the availability data.
Analyze operations reports of operations anomalies.
Performs other related duties as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in railway operations, preferably in automated or driverless systems.
Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with operations and maintenance teams.
