Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing fetal well-being, and educating patients on pregnancy-related topics.
  • Assist physicians during labor and delivery, anticipating needs and responding quickly to changes in the patient's condition to ensure a safe birthing experience.
  • Offer postpartum care, educating new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and recognizing postpartum complications while monitoring the mother's recovery.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Perform routine gynecological examinations and procedures, such as Pap smears and IUD insertions, providing patient education and support.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, midwives, and other specialists, to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Respond to emergencies and urgent situations, providing immediate assessment and intervention while remaining calm and decisive.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, demonstrating a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices.
  • Holds a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, ensuring legal authorization to practice nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), showcasing the ability to respond to medical emergencies effectively.
  • Demonstrates 2-5 years of experience in an obstetrics and gynecology setting, indicating practical knowledge and familiarity with the specialty.
