Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Excellent direct communication with shipping lines & NVOCC team.
  • Excellent pricing negotiator.
  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end ocean freight export process, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of goods.
  • Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to arrange bookings and secure space.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues to clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export laws, and company policies.
  • Resolve operational challenges and provide solutions to ensure smooth cargo movement.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and correspondence for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and service providers to optimize costs and service quality.
  • Continuously seek process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience in ocean freight export operations or a related logistics role.
  • Proven knowledge of international shipping procedures, pricing, documentation, and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with shipping lines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Proficiency in using logistics management systems and MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance processes and export compliance requirements.
  • Strong negotiation skills for dealing with carriers and service providers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
