Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Maintain overall command and control of the installation and activities within the 500 meters exclusion zone, including when the vessel is under tow.

Ensure that all operations are thoroughly planned before commencing, and relevant personnel are included in the planning process.

Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with agreed plans, policies and procedures.

Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.

Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and Emergency Procedures manual.

Plan and supervise delivery of drills.

Ensure commitment to the health, safety and welfare of all personnel on board.

Ensure effective development of all rig personnel with regard to their emergency duties.

Ensure that all emergency response equipment is maintained and in good order.

Responsible for making decisions with respect to safety and pollution prevention; request assistance as necessary.

Manage SOAR (Stop Observe Act Report) program and encourage active participation, coach and mentor SOAR conversations.

Comply with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of RMS, Heath, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.

Take part in accidents/incidents investigation, including contributing to root cause analysis and remedial actions to be taken to prevent recurrence.

Facilitate the rig audit process with regards to working environment areas and follow up to bring outstanding audit points to completion.

Take active role in the planning process regarding required mapping process of working environment areas.

Assist or direct the review and/or approval of any HSE related or other relevant documentation impacting his/her area of responsibility.

Responsible and accountable for HSE protection within his/her area of responsibility, including communication and implementation of such policies and procedures; demonstrate management s commitment to health, safety and environmental protection.

Comply with company s Code of Conduct.

Ensure maintenance of good order and discipline.

Ensure compliance with local governmental requirements.

Ensure all rig certifications and licenses are kept current and arrange timely renewals.

Complete and submit reports, logs, records and notes in accordance to procedures and instructions.

Close out any Independent Competent Person (ICP) conditions of Class in a timely manner.

Lead and actively participate in all safety meetings, working environment committees and contribute with relevant points.

Show active participation in Hazard Management and Stop Work activities.

Manage work and human resources deployment and usage.

Ensure drilling equipment and associated systems are operated in accordance with Company procedures and manufacturers recommendations.

Ensure inspections and preventive maintenance schedules are applied in conjunction with the Maintenance department (as applicable).

Assists in preparation of budget

Encourage cost conscious and environmentally responsible attitudes of material usage and wastes.

Oversee inventory control for spare parts in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Approve or disapprove all material and service requisitions, maintain rig budgeting and ensure correct cost coding.

Oversee living quarters and rig sickbay operations.

Review Company documentation with crew members as required.

Participate in document revisions as required.

Contribute to the development of rig improvement/goals plan.

Oversee mentoring process is implemented in accordance with the Mentoring Program.

Demonstrate leadership through personal responsibility and accountability.

Participate in Competence Program.

Implement frontline discipline in consultation with next level supervisor.

Conduct formal and informal performance appraisals, which include measuring performance, ensure timely completion of formal performance appraisals.

Ensure direct reports roles and responsibilities are clearly discussed.

Liaise with customer representative to ensure customer s contractual expectations are met and flow of information is effective.

Liaise with service personnel onboard installation and ensure they perform operations safely and according to procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum high school diploma with extensive experience working in a rig environment.

Minimum 5 years of previous working experience as Rig Manager or Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)

Hold US Coast Guard unrestricted OIM license or equivalent.

Complete the mandatory training set by ARO such as: Dropped Objects, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training, Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness, OGUK Medical, and Well Control Supervisor.

Additional training certificates may be required upon joining the company.
