Role & responsibilities

The Operation & Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all mechanical maintenance activities for bulk solid handling systems, including truck unloaders, conveyor systems, stackers, mobile hoppers, and shiploaders, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

This role bridges the gap between maintenance teams, operations, and management, providing clear plans, schedules, and resource allocation to optimize equipment uptime.

Planning and Scheduling

• Develop, maintain, and update preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules for all bulk solid handling equipment.
• Coordinate with shift in-charges, maintenance engineers, and operations to plan routine and breakdown activities.
• Allocate manpower, materials, and tools effectively for planned maintenance.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance plans aligned with operational requirements.
• Ensure maintenance schedules comply with safety, regulatory, and OEM recommendations.

Maintenance Coordination and Documentation

• Track all maintenance activities using SAP/CMMS systems for accurate records.
• Monitor completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and escalate delays or deviations.
• Ensure proper job cards, work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance logs are prepared and submitted.
• Support spare parts planning and inventory checks to prevent downtime.
• Coordinate shutdowns or major maintenance works with operations and contractors.

Reliability and Performance Monitoring

• Ensure that all shift maintenance activities comply with Deltas HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct pre-job safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Monitor proper use of PPE and safe working practices by technicians and contractors.
• Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance plans and activities comply with Delta HSE policies, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Incorporate safety checks and hazard mitigation in all maintenance schedules.
• Support training programs for technicians on safe maintenance practices and work procedures.
