Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Working on the operation and maintenance of water transmission systems, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of supplies, and coordinating between different departments to control operational processes and achieve the highest levels of performance in accordance with approved operational standards.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with approved policies, processes, procedures and instructions.

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and practices, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and efficiency.

Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards within the water transport company and related roles such as (human capital, safety, industrial security, risks, cybersecurity, etc.).

Escalating problems to ensure challenges and issues are closed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Working on transportation and distribution operations by monitoring the pumping of water to the main stations and ensuring its distribution to each city according to operational plans and instructions from the Operations Manager.

Monitoring the efficiency of stations and equipment in coordination with supervisors, conducting periodic checks to ensure the readiness of systems and the continuity of work, and submitting reports on performance and operational needs.

Ensuring operational interferences through coordination between production and distribution systems to ensure balanced water pumping, and monitoring all interferences with external pipelines to ensure that operations are not affected.

Coordinating with the operating teams and supervisors to implement the start-up and shut-down operations, switching of feed lines and control of tank levels, and taking the necessary measures to deal with any decrease in storage levels.

Working and following up on major maintenance work at stations, pipelines and main tanks in coordination with the heads of maintenance departments, evaluating equipment performance and ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance plans are implemented efficiently.

Working on preparing periodic operational reports related to performance, production, consumption, downtime, and operational challenges, and submitting recommendations to ensure continuous improvement of operational processes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities 2

Coordinating operational requests by coordinating with the operational supply platform to approve daily and monthly needs, and ensuring the availability of supplies and key spare parts in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Working to develop operational competencies by preparing training plans and programs for employees in transportation systems, and conducting technical interviews in cooperation with training specialists to ensure the readiness of operational teams.

Coordination with external parties to participate in internal audit programs, business continuity, emergency plans, and operational plans, and to contribute to improving operational processes and participating in the preparation of annual coordination reports for water quantities.

Covering operational leadership tasks by assuming the responsibilities of the center's operations leader when needed, including monitoring operations, managing operational teams, and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure business continuity.

Work coverage at all pumping stations whenever the need arises.

He monitors the pumping of water to the stations and its distribution to each city according to the instructions of the Director of Operations.

He follows up with the supervisors on the conditions of the stations, equipment, and general cleanliness, and submits reports on their condition.

It coordinates between production systems regarding water pumping balancing.

The shift supervisors direct the pipelines to (turn on - turn off) stations and pipelines, and to switch feed lines and the levels of main and emergency tanks.

He inspects the stations periodically and ensures the proper functioning of systems and equipment and general cleanliness.

Key Roles and Responsibilities 3

He follows up on major maintenance work at stations, pipelines, main tanks, emergencies, and pending malfunctions, and evaluates the performance and efficiency of equipment and devices in the department in coordination with the heads of maintenance departments in the transport systems.

It prepares the required daily, monthly and annual activity, performance, production, consumption, downtime and general reports for pipelines.

He heads the main pipeline operations, ensures that all stations and the control center operate according to standard procedures, and takes the necessary operational actions to correct performance, deficiencies, or low tank levels in coordination with the operations manager.

He coordinates and follows up on all administrative and technical matters with the operations manager.

He develops a plan with training programs for employees in the operations department for transport systems and conducts the necessary technical interviews in coordination with the training specialist.

He attends periodic meetings with operations and maintenance officials for coordination, discussion and cooperation, according to the scheduled dates.

He coordinates and follows up on operational supply platform requests and their approval with relevant parties on a daily, monthly, and whenever the need arises.

Participating in and following up on all work related to external parties such as (internal audit, business continuity, operational plan, emergency plan, etc.)

To cover the work of the center operations commander in case of leave, training and work assignment.

Preparing the annual coordination reports for water quantities between the production, transport and distribution system.

Issuing business permits whenever necessary.

Tasks that can be assigned to him when needed:

Participating in the work of committees (internal and external).

Providing support and assistance to other transportation systems.


Education Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Bachelor’s in Relevant fields or Engineering

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
