Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Operations Engineer to oversee workshop performance, fleet readiness, and overall equipment operational efficiency. This role ensures that all rental equipment is maintained to the highest standards and is operationally ready to support ongoing projects across Riyadh and wider KSA.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Oversight & Equipment Readiness
- Supervise and coordinate inspection, maintenance, and repair of all rental equipment to ensure safety, performance, and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance on complex equipment faults and escalate critical issues promptly.
- Approve equipment for dispatch only when safety and operational standards are met.
- Monitor performance trends and recurring issues to implement preventive measures.
2. Workshop Management & Staff Oversight
- Directly manage the Workshop Supervisor and ensure efficient task distribution among maintenance staff.
- Oversee maintenance schedules, workflow prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Enforce workshop SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Support skill development and training initiatives for workshop technicians.
3. Supplier & Manufacturer Coordination
- Act as the main liaison with equipment suppliers, OEMs, and technical support teams.
- Manage warranty claims, major repairs, recalls, and spare parts procurement.
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and stay updated on technical bulletins and training opportunities.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely execution of external repairs or parts sourcing.
4. Operational Efficiency & Fleet Management
- Track and analyse equipment utilization, downtime, and maintenance history to optimize fleet efficiency.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator and Hire Desk Controller to ensure timely equipment availability.
- Recommend fleet upgrades, replacements, or disposals based on lifecycle and performance data.
5. Compliance & Safety Assurance
- Ensure all equipment meets KSA safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Oversee safety checks, inspections, and equipment certifications.
- Maintain accurate compliance and audit documentation.
6. Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Assist in budgeting for spare parts, tools, and equipment procurement.
7. Cross-Department Coordination
- Collaborate with:
- Workshop Supervisor for daily maintenance planning
- Hire Desk Controller for booking alignment
- Logistics Coordinator for delivery schedules
- Resolve technical issues impacting operations or customer delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 4–6 years of experience in equipment maintenance, rental operations, or mechanical engineering roles (lifting equipment preferred).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system knowledge.
- Experience supervising workshop teams is an advantage.
- Familiarity with KSA safety and regulatory standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
