Roles & Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support & Assurance:
    • Provide on-site executive support and guidance to the SSI team and OLCs to ensure compliance with the the company security standards and protocols.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Promote and maintain strong operational collaboration with Sonatrach security teams through ASI and CDG liaisons.
  • Crisis & Emergency Preparedness:
    • Act as site-level representative for the Liaison function within the Incident Management Team (IMT) and oversee all emergency response and site security plans.
  • Quality Assurance & Reporting:
    • Manage the QA/QC database, conduct audits, and produce monthly reports used at the JJOC level to support senior decision-making.
  • Escort Coordination:
    • Plan bi-weekly escort schedules with the SSI CDG, ensuring all security force elements are aligned with protection requirements.
  • Personnel Tracking:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date LOC-STATs for expatriate staff across Algeria to support emergency and incident response.
  • Administration & Compliance:
    • Review and consolidate Liaison team payroll documentation for final approval by LTL/SAM.
  • Journey Management:
    • Create journey management plans for expatriate travel across Algeria, including field visits, accommodations, and transport arrangements, particularly in remote or non-operational areas.
  • Ethical and Reputational Awareness:
    • Apply JV ethical standards and protect company reputation through daily Liaison operations and decision-making.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide day-to-day leadership and motivation to the Liaison team, encouraging operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Operating Environment

This is a site-based position with regular in-country travel required, including familiarization visits to all company sites. The OLS is expected to operate within the framework of Algerian regulations, company policies, and internationally recognized security practices.

Framework, Boundaries & Decision-Making

The role functions within clearly defined policies, procedures, and ethical frameworks established by the company. Decision-making authority is exercised in alignment with these standards and in consultation with the LTL and SAM, ensuring the security and integrity of company operations.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies Essential Knowledge & Skills
  • Solid understanding of risk and security management practices
  • Knowledge of physical security systems and risk mitigation strategies
  • Awareness of business continuity and emergency response frameworks
  • Lead auditor certification (ISO or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English and French; Arabic is an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Algerian and North African operational landscape
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years in security/risk management, ideally within oil & gas or related sectors
  • Proven leadership in team development, training, and operational supervision
  • Practical experience in high-pressure, multicultural environments
  • Background in instruction, mentoring, and performance evaluation
