Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of paper converting operations, ensuring efficient production flow and adherence to quality standards, including printing, cutting, and finishing processes.
- Manage and optimize production schedules to meet customer demands and minimize downtime, coordinating with sales and logistics teams for seamless order fulfillment.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control measures, troubleshooting production issues and ensuring all products meet or exceed specified requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment through training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Manage the budget for the paper converting operations, including cost control, equipment maintenance, and materials procurement.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards, promoting a safe working environment and sustainable practices.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all converting equipment is properly maintained and operational, minimizing downtime and maximizing output.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best prices and terms for raw materials and other supplies, optimizing procurement costs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in paper converting, recommending and implementing improvements to remain competitive.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in paper converting operations, with a proven track record of successful management.
- Strong understanding of paper converting processes, including printing, cutting, folding, and finishing techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of identifying and resolving production issues.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and standards, with experience implementing and maintaining quality systems.
