Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare work schedules, allocate resources, and conduct periodic meetings with reportees on critical issues.

Prepare weekly reports to the Manager, Operations highlighting technical problems and modifications to schedule.

Prepare daily data report verifying all records are maintained as required by procedure.

Verify all unit outages and maintenance are recorded as per procedure.

Enable all maintenance schedules prepared by the Maintenance function and implement any other instructions related to the performance of the plants.

Enforce annual shutdown and starting of the plant is performed in accordance with established plans.

Propose changes in methods, schedules and procedures to improve performance.

Coordinate the preparation of commissioning reports on the performance of all units for use by the Planning function.

Monitor and track the performance of the equipment and provide guidance on operation.

Prepare monthly reports on the performance of the equipment.

Participate in annual unit inspection, assess condition of units and report findings and recommendations.

Prepare and update plant operating procedures and verify units are operating under normal conditions and order shutdowns, as needed.

Oversee performance of plant operators during normal operations, startup, isolation and shutdown.

Oversee performance of operators to ensure all operations are performed as per established plans and schedules.

Oversee performance of operators to ensure work is executed in accordance with established procedures.

Manage and update health & safety documents.

Ensure that all plant employees and contractors are following HSE regulations and rules.

Provide safety instructions on equipment usage and handling.

Assure compliance/adherence to company's HSE applicable standard at all the time and report any violations to HSE representative.

Monitor spare parts, fuel, lubricants and chemical consumption and review consumption against the estimated figures in the department s budget.

Inspect and receive spare parts, chemicals, fuel and lubricant at the site and monitor their registration.

Review and approve invoices such as fuel and lubricant invoices and O&M invoices.

Identify and plan for expenses during the year in alignment with business objectives and priorities.

Provide inputs in finalizing the budget for the department/section and monitor budget continuously.

Highlight and prepare a business case for deviations from budget/expenditures on unplanned activities.

Communicate the overall business plan and focus areas for the business and clarify the manner in which the team will contribute to overall business objectives; translate the business plan into team/departmental objectives.

Delegate responsibilities and tasks to team members with clear timelines and expectations on quality; make available the requisite resources to perform the job.

Review performance in an objective, fair, and transparent manner and hold people accountable for performance; create development plans in line with employee aspirations and company objectives.

Identify the business need for establishing a process and provide inputs in defining and documenting it; assign accountabilities within the team for managing the process.

Adhere to internal processes and encourage adherence from team members; recognize the need for modifications to existing processes and share them with appropriate teams.

Treat IT security with the utmost importance and adhere to ISO standards and aspects on IT security.

Adhere to all Company policy and procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree of Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering/ Process Engineering.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 9 years experience in the Gas Turbines operations of a large power of which should be in the capacity as an Operations Superintendent
  • Contractual and commercial experience.
