Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in his Area of Responsibility follow the correct practices and observe safety precautions thereby complying with the requirements and limitations detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report and that as far as is reasonably practicable ensuring that no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk.
Responsible for the preparation and dissemination of the short term flying programmesi>.
Producing the daily met brief for presentation by the Sqn Duty Officer to all aircrew at the start of the flying day.
Providing mission planning support to Instructor and Student Pilots.
Responsible for Sqn performance metrication and statistics including but not limited to the following: Profiled Flying Hours, Actual Flying Hours, Trained RSAF Aircrew, Aircrew Currencies, Mission Events and Deviations.
Ensuring that the maintenance organisation are aware of all future flying plans and receive scheduled flying programmes in a timely fashion. Informing the maintenance organistaion of any changes to scheduled programmes and immediate notice of changes that affect the daily flying programme.
Coaching, training, mentoring and knowledge transfer to BAES and RSAF personnel under your direction and control.
Completing any other duties or requests that are made by the Operations Support Team Leader or the Sqn Operatons Officer.
Job Requirements:
Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
Proven supervisory ability in a high-tempo aircraft operations environment.
Must have extensive Military Flying Operations support experience (10+ years in a Squadron Operations or Air Traffic support role).
Must have Operations and Mission support knowledge (5+ years in a Squadron Operations role) including an understanding of Mission Planning Support, Flying Programme Maintenance and Debriefing Support.
Must have an understanding of RAF / RSAF flying operations including: Planning, delivering and executing the contracted Basic Flying Programmes (BFP). Mission planning, Mission recording and compilation of all associated Aircrew currency statistics.i>
Capable of working independently or as part of a larger operational team under extreme pressure and to tight operational timescales.
Working knowledge of Mission Planning Systems (AMPA)
An understanding of RAF and /or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
Ex military with experience serving on an operational military flying unit.
Proven track record supervising, training and mentoring staff at senior supervisor level.
Extensive previous experience in the day to day running of a Squadron Operations room.
Excellent man-management and communications competencies. Management experience with proven ability to manage operations personnel in a high tempo environment.
High level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels.
Demonstrable experience working with aircrew and maintainers on a busy, military operational flying unit.
Excellent understanding of flying programme management.
Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred.
The ability to act upon his own initiative within the scope of his job.
A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
