Roles & Responsibilities
Overall Purpose of the Job
Supervise and coordinate the support functions interlinked with operational delivery for the designated Product Lines Sampling and Laboratory within the area of responsibility.
To ensure operational excellence, optimal asset utilisation, and compliance with company requirements in stock management, logistics, and service delivery.
To provide strong technical expertise and market insight to support business development, including the delivery of technical sales presentations, preparation of technical papers and case studies, and input to tenders and proposals.
To assist with the introduction of new products and services, maintain awareness of market and technology developments, and contribute to strategies that sustain revenue and contribution targets in line with budget.
Key Activities And Accountabilities
- Provide a link between Operations, Business Development, Engineering and Product Line technical groups to ensure coordinated delivery and alignment of objectives.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers in the designated product lines.
- Understand and be able to explain product line equipment, laboratory processes, procedures, and applications.
- Ensure that operational standards for the Product Lines are effectively communicated, implemented, and adhered to across assigned locations, and that feedback and issues from local operations are promptly escalated to the Product Line for review and actions.
- Participate with Product Line Manager and geographical teams in defining and executing strategies to develop activity in new geo-markets, grow market share in existing locations, and deploy new products and services.
- Support in preparation of contracts/tenders as required and contribute to technical proposals.
- Assist with the introduction of new products, services, and laboratory capabilities based on understanding of product line technology, market trends, and customer requirements.
- Deliver the support services required to meet both internal and external client expectations and ensure optimal utilization of company assets.
- Contribute to the performance and competency assessment of Product Line employees as required.
- May deputize for Product Line Manager within the area of responsibility when required.
- Monitor CAPEX project spend and assist in CAPEX order processing through the AFE process.
- Work with Business Development local teams to follow up opportunities and support in defining tailored and value-adding technical offers to meet customer needs.
- Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations internally and externally, ensuring content is tailored to the technical and commercial needs of the audience. When required, support in the preparation and write-up of technical papers and case studies to promote product line capability and share operational successes.
- Perform audits on internal processes in line with Excellence In Operations targets and Service Delivery Standards.
- Ensure effective use of equipment and laboratory asset tracking systems within Operations Support.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technology, market shifts, competition offerings, and niche opportunities within the designated product lines. Ensure strict adherence to Expro s ethics, quality, and HSE standards; lead by example, ensure compliance, support continuous improvement, enable safe reporting, and develop staff through mentoring and training.
8+ years technical experience in a laboratory environment within the Oil & Gas industry, specifically related to PVT analysis, with solid understanding of flow assurance, water analysis, and production chemistry testing. Experience in surface and downhole sampling operations is recommended.
Good knowledge of operational processes, asset utilization, and service delivery in sampling and laboratory services.
Sound commercial knowledge with an understanding of financial principles and how they relate to operational performance.
Strong Operations, HSEQ, Sales and/or Marketing experience.
