Optical Test Technician -Fiber Termination & Assembly

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and terminate fiber optic cables using connector types including LC, SC, FC, ST, and MPO/MTP.
• Perform fiber preparation, stripping, cleaving, splicing, polishing, and inspection using microscopes or interferometers.
• Conduct insertion loss and return loss testing using optical test equipment (OTDR, OLTS, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation following cleanroom and ESD safety procedures.
• Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications for each product type.
• Document daily production data, test results, and material traceability accurately.
• Support continuous improvement and yield enhancement initiatives in the production area.
• Assist in training new team members and share best practices.
• Report any quality or process deviations to the Supervisor promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Fiber Optics, Electronics, or related field.
• Minimum 2- 3 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic termination or cable assembly.
• Good understanding of fiber connector types, polishing techniques, and inspection criteria.
• Familiarity with IEC and TIA/EIA standards for fiber optic terminations.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

• Knowledge of fiber color codes and cabling standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or work instructions.

Working Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
