Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of ENT conditions
  • Perform a wide range of elective and emergency ENT procedures, including head and neck cases (as per subspecialty expertise)
  • Manage outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and operating theatre lists
  • Participate in on-call and emergency ENT services

Leadership & Service Development

  • Provide clinical leadership within the ENT department
  • Support departmental planning, pathway development, and service expansion
  • Contribute to workforce planning, mentoring, and performance development of junior medical staff
  • Lead or participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement programs

Multidisciplinary & Academic Role

  • Collaborate with anesthesiology, radiology, oncology, pediatrics, speech therapy, and other specialties
  • Participate in teaching, training, and supervision of residents, specialists, and allied health professionals
  • Support research activities, protocol development, and evidence-based practice

Desired Candidate Profile

Mandatory Requirements

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Board Certification / CCT / Specialist Certification in Otolaryngology (ENT)
  • Minimum 8 10 years of post-qualification experience, including consultant-level practice
  • Proven leadership experience (e.g., Head of Unit, Clinical Lead, Program Director, or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for DOH (Abu Dhabi) Consultant License

Desirable

  • Subspecialty expertise (e.g., Head & Neck Surgery, Otology, Rhinology, Pediatric ENT, Laryngology)
  • Experience in tertiary or high-volume surgical centers
  • International board certification (UK, US, European, Arab Board, or equivalent)

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex cases
