Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of ENT conditions
- Perform a wide range of elective and emergency ENT procedures, including head and neck cases (as per subspecialty expertise)
- Manage outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and operating theatre lists
- Participate in on-call and emergency ENT services
Leadership & Service Development
- Provide clinical leadership within the ENT department
- Support departmental planning, pathway development, and service expansion
- Contribute to workforce planning, mentoring, and performance development of junior medical staff
- Lead or participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement programs
Multidisciplinary & Academic Role
- Collaborate with anesthesiology, radiology, oncology, pediatrics, speech therapy, and other specialties
- Participate in teaching, training, and supervision of residents, specialists, and allied health professionals
- Support research activities, protocol development, and evidence-based practice
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced surgical and clinical expertise in ENT
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex cases
- Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and ethical practice
Desired Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized institution
- Board Certification / CCT / Specialist Certification in Otolaryngology (ENT)
- Minimum 8 10 years of post-qualification experience, including consultant-level practice
- Proven leadership experience (e.g., Head of Unit, Clinical Lead, Program Director, or equivalent)
- Eligibility for DOH (Abu Dhabi) Consultant License
Desirable
- Subspecialty expertise (e.g., Head & Neck Surgery, Otology, Rhinology, Pediatric ENT, Laryngology)
- Experience in tertiary or high-volume surgical centers
- International board certification (UK, US, European, Arab Board, or equivalent)
