Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Review and audit coding for outpatient and emergency department encounters to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Validate the use of appropriate ICD-10-AM and CPT codes in accordance with UAE payer rules and hospital policies.
  • Identify and correct coding errors before claim submission.
  • Coordinate with clinical documentation, billing, and denial teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare audit findings, reports, and recommendations for coding improvements.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and assist in external audit preparations.
  • Support coder training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor payer denials related to coding and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare coding guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE health authorities standards (DOH/DHA/MOH) and hospital policies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 5 years of experience in medical coding and auditing within a hospital or healthcare organization in the UAE.
  • Proven experience in outpatient and emergency coding.
  • Valid certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • DOH/DHA/MOH license or eligibility preferred.
  • Strong command of ICD-10-AM, CPT, and DRG coding systems.
  • Familiarity with e-claim submission systems and hospital EMR platforms (Cerner, Medisys, or Oracle).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive data confidentially.
  • Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage.
