Paediatric Cardiac Surgery - Consultant

Role Overview The Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon will be responsible for providing expert surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart diseases. The role involves managing complex cardiac cases, contributing to multidisciplinary care, and supporting the development of paediatric cardiac services within a leading government healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform paediatric cardiac surgeries, including complex congenital heart defect repairs
• Provide pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care for paediatric cardiac patients
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions with cardiology, ICU, anesthesia, and nursing teams
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, fellows, and residents
• Ensure compliance with international clinical standards, patient safety, and quality protocols
• Participate in on-call rotas and emergency surgical coverage as required
• Contribute to clinical audits, service development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and reports in accordance with hospital policies
