Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist-level care to critically ill pediatric patients admitted to the PICU
- Perform detailed clinical assessments, diagnosis, and management plans in collaboration with Consultants
- Manage ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and organ support therapies
- Participate in emergency response, rapid response teams, and resuscitation services
- Take part in on-call and shift duties as per departmental rota
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with Consultants, residents, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Communicate effectively with patients families regarding treatment plans and progress
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and DOH regulations
Education & Quality Improvement
- Support teaching and supervision of junior doctors and nursing staff
- Participate in audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in continuing medical education and professional development activities
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized medical school
- Specialist Certification in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine or Paediatrics with PICU training
- Minimum 3 5 years of post-qualification experience, including PICU experience
- Eligibility for DOH (Abu Dhabi) Specialist License
Desirable
- Experience in tertiary-care or high-acuity PICU settings
- International board certification or equivalent recognized qualification
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
