Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of painting and coating applications on industrial pressure vessels
  • Verify surface preparation, environmental conditions, and application techniques prior to and during painting processes.
  • Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records of all painting and coating activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations during painting operations.
  • Perform adhesion, thickness, and holiday testing to validate coating integrity and performance.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality assurance plans related to painting and coating.
  • Participate in quality audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance team.
  • Ensure that all materials and coatings used meet approved standards and certifications.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors and painting personnel on best practices and quality requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

2 to 5 years of experience in painting inspection or quality assurance within an industrial or engineering environment.

  • Experience in steel and pressure vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of painting and coating standards such as SSPC, NACE, or ISO.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques including DFT gauges, adhesion testers, and holiday detectors.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality control documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and reporting abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Experience with documentation and record-keeping for quality assurance purposes.
  • Flexibility to work onsite at industrial facilities as required.
