  • Operate and monitor all conveying, stacking, reclaiming, and ship loading/unloading equipment through the DCS/PLC or SCADA system.
  • Start up, shut down, and adjust plant operations according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Continuously observe process parameters, alarms, and interlocks to maintain safe and efficient operation.
  • Respond promptly to process deviations, equipment trips, or emergency conditions by initiating corrective actions or communicating with field teams.
  • Maintain constant communication with field operators, marine operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure coordinated performance.

Production & Throughput Control

  • Achieve daily vessel loading/unloading and stockyard throughput targets as per operational plan.
  • Optimize material flow rates and minimize idle times or bottlenecks in the system.
  • Ensure proper material blending, stacking sequences, and reclaiming patterns when applicable.
  • Record and report operational data such as tonnage, equipment status, and downtime.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Strictly follow HSE procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), permit-to-work (PTW), and confined space entry systems.
  • Monitor and report unsafe conditions, dust emissions, and spillages from the control room.
  • Support emergency response actions (e.g., fire, spillage, or equipment failure) by coordinating field and control actions.
  • Maintain full adherence to port and terminal environmental policies and regulations.

Coordination & Communication

  • Maintain continuous radio/PA communication with field operators, maintenance technicians, and the Shift Team Lead.
  • Report any abnormalities, alarms, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Prepare accurate shift logs and participate in shift handover briefings to ensure operational continuity.
  • Coordinate equipment isolations and restart with the maintenance department.

Process Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and log key operating parameters (e.g., conveyor loads, motor currents, bearing temperatures, and system pressures).
  • Identify trends, deviations, or potential equipment issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Support preparation of downtime analysis, operational reports, and root cause investigations.

Housekeeping & Continuous Improvement

  • Support and encourage good housekeeping practices in CCR and plant areas.
  • Propose operational improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and refresher training programs.

Emergency & Abnormal Operations

  • Execute emergency stop (E-stop) or isolation procedures in case of unsafe conditions.
  • Follow established emergency response plans and assist in plant recovery after incidents.
  • Ensure safe re-start of systems after power failures, breakdowns, or maintenance activities.
