Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients in a variety of clinical and field settings, including trauma care, cardiac emergencies, respiratory support, and more.

Perform initial patient assessments, including vital signs, history taking, and physical examinations, to determine the severity of medical conditions and formulate treatment plans.

Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed, including intravenous fluids, oxygen therapy, and other life-saving interventions.

Maintain accurate and thorough patient care records, documenting all assessments, treatments, and patient responses.

Ensure that all clinical procedures, interventions, and patient interactions adhere to UNSOS clinical protocols, local health regulations, and international medical standards.

Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective transfer of care.

Provide emergency medical care in compliance with established safety protocols, including infection control and patient handling procedures.

Ensure the safe transportation of patients to medical facilities, monitoring their condition en route and administering necessary interventions.

Maintain and regularly check emergency medical equipment to ensure it is operational and compliant with safety standards.

Follow clinical guidelines for infection prevention and control, ensuring all medical tools and equipment are sanitized and used appropriately.

Adhere to proper protocols when handling hazardous materials, including medications and biohazardous waste, to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and the environment.

Participate in the identification and reporting of adverse events, patient safety concerns, and incidents to improve care practices.

Participate in quality improvement programs aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency medical services provided by UNSOS.

Collect and report data on patient outcomes, service delivery, and clinical performance to help identify opportunities for improvement.

Participate in the review and evaluation of emergency medical care practices, including patient care audits and peer reviews.

Suggest improvements and modifications to clinical protocols, based on findings from patient care audits and evidence-based practices.

Engage in continuous professional development, attending training sessions, workshops, and educational activities to maintain and enhance paramedic skills.

Contribute to team discussions on the implementation of best practices and lessons learned from patient care to optimize emergency medical services.

Ensure that all emergency medical practices, including trauma care, resuscitation, and pain management, comply with contemporary evidence-based guidelines from reputable organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).

Follow clinical protocols that are based on the latest research and evidence in pre-hospital emergency care, ensuring patient safety and the best possible outcomes.

Stay informed about the latest developments in paramedicine and emergency medical care, integrating new knowledge and practices into daily operations.

Adhere to the latest guidelines in the management of common emergency conditions such as cardiac arrest, stroke, trauma, and respiratory distress.

Regularly review and update personal and team knowledge of current medical practices, treatments, and technologies to ensure adherence to evidence-based standards.

Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards related to emergency medical care, patient transportation, and reporting procedures.

Promote ethical behavior and alignment with Aspen Medical s Social Purpose and B Corp principles.

Perform any additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the role or organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

Training in a paramedical science course of not less than 12 months leading to the award of a Diploma/Associate Degree or Bachelor in paramedical science.

A minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical experience as a paramedic working in a pre-hospital care setting after certification/license.

Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Trauma Life support (ATLS), and/or Advanced Life support (ALS) certification as specified in para 3.1.1.
