Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Master the PE foam extrusion process by precisely adjusting temperature, pressure, and screw speed to meet product specifications and maintain optimal foam density and cell structure.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, including die changes, screw cleaning, and resolving minor mechanical or electrical issues to ensure smooth operation.
  • Continuously monitor product quality through visual inspections, dimensional checks, and density measurements, making necessary adjustments to the extrusion process to maintain quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain all associated auxiliary equipment such as blenders, feeders, and haul-off systems, ensuring proper function and material flow.
  • Accurately record production data, including material usage, output quantities, and downtime, to maintain accurate production records and identify areas for improvement.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures, to prevent workplace accidents.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize the extrusion process, improve efficiency, and minimize waste through proactive problem-solving and process improvement suggestions.
  • Conduct quality control checks and perform necessary adjustments to maintain product consistency and meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles, to promote a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Train new operators on extrusion processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent is a must, providing a solid foundation for understanding technical processes.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in PE foam extrusion, demonstrating a proven ability to operate and maintain extrusion equipment.
  • Prior experience in the foam industry is highly preferred, showcasing familiarity with the specific challenges and nuances of PE foam production.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, enabling efficient equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of extrusion process parameters (temperature, pressure, screw speed) and their impact on product quality and foam characteristics.
  • Certification in relevant areas (e.g., forklift operation, safety) is a plus, indicating commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and operational issues quickly.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) and quality control equipment to ensure product compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to understand instructions and report findings.
