Roles & Responsibilities


  • Perform complex pediatric surgical procedures with precision and expertise, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor a surgical team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient safety and continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert consultation to other medical professionals on complex pediatric surgical cases, offering guidance and support.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including pre- and post-operative management.
  • Stay at the forefront of pediatric surgical advancements through continuous learning, research, and the adoption of innovative techniques.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care, ensuring informed consent and understanding.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records, adhering to all regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Contribute to the development of surgical protocols and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in academic activities, including teaching, research, and presentations at medical conferences.
  • Provide consultative service as requested.
  • Supervise fellows, staff/assistant physicians, and residents.
  • Actively participates in the training and teaching of residents and fellows in his area of expertise and Participates in research activities.
  • Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Possess a medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in medical science.
  • Hold board certification in Pediatric Surgery, showcasing expertise and commitment to specialized surgical care for children.
  • Completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery, providing in-depth training in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric surgical conditions.
  • German board/Spanish/DES or equivalent.
  • MRCS/FRCS & certificate of completion of training or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric surgery, demonstrating a proven track record of successful surgical outcomes.
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in a tertiary care hospital setting, indicating exposure to complex cases and advanced surgical techniques.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • A registered member of the Saudi Board Council
  • Demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of pediatric surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques.

Language

  • Must be fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages (Arabic) is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.
