Petro Rabigh Careers
Established in 2005, Petro Rabigh is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. Located in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, the aim of the project was to build integrated oil refining and petrochemical operations by upgrading Saudi Aramco’s oil refinery and constructing a new petrochemical complex. The company has 23 plants capable of producing 18.4 million tons per annum of petroleum-based products and 2.4 million tons per annum of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives. Petro Rabigh manufactures plastics called polymers and monomers. These are further converted into plastics, detergents, lubricants, resins, coolants, anti-freeze, paint, carpets, rope, clothing, shampoo, auto interiors, epoxy glue, insulation, film, fibres, household appliances, packaging, candles, film, pipes, etc.

Petro Rabigh employs more than 3,000 employees. Over 80 percent of the total workforce consists of Saudi nationals and the rest of the strength represents employees of 37 different nationalities from around the globe. The company has an on-site R&D facility, and also sends its employees abroad to keep up with the latest innovations in the field. It has also established The Petro Rabigh Community, a 3,000-acre self-contained site located on the Red Sea, for its employees. The community has its own medical facilities, schools, a shopping mall, sports and recreational facilities, a beachfront and a park. Plans are underway to almost double the size of the plant in the coming years which will result in increased employment opportunities.
