Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Carry out a variety of duties related to the preparation and execution of programmes and surveys for well testing, completion, workover, production logging, well evaluation, and monitoring activities. Includes preparing drilling and workover schedules, supervising well completion, evaluating well performance, preparing well monitoring programmes, planning well stimulation, and supervising wireline production logging. Assist in the preparation of reports and studies such as drilling proposals, well completion, well testing, well monitoring, and well performance reviews.
Key Accountabilities
Well Design, Survey & Monitoring
- Prepare well completion design.
- Develop and supervise well monitoring programmes, including drawing up the programme, recommending monitoring surveys, interpreting results, and detecting reservoir tendencies.
- Estimate producing/injection zones based on data analysis.
Operational Efficiency & Optimization
- Optimize operational efficiency to meet internal standards.
- Prepare acidizing programmes for well stimulation at minimum cost and maximum benefit.
- Plan and supervise rigless jobs using boat/barge operations and coordinate with service contractors.
Production Operations & Facilities
- Analyse the impact of completion and reservoir parameters on productivity.
- Provide input for surface facilities network simulation and optimisation.
- Participate in facility de-bottlenecking activities.
Well Performance Evaluation
- Evaluate inflow and outflow performance between reservoir and wellbore.
- Recommend workovers and/or well services to meet production targets.
Well Testing & Sampling
- Prepare equipment and tools for well testing.
- Supervise service providers at well sites to ensure objectives are met.
Well Integrity
- Prepare and execute well monitoring plans in line with Well Integrity Management System (WIMS).
- Monitor and investigate downhole corrosion, run corrosion logs, and install corrosion coupons.
- Liaise with production personnel to review inhibitor effectiveness.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate reports and MIS statements in line with company requirements.
- Assist in preparing functional statements and well performance evaluations.
Policies, Systems & Procedures
- Implement approved functional policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with procedural and legislative requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
Relationship Management
- Maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external entities (government authorities, service providers, contractors).
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
- Ensure compliance with QHSE policies and legislative requirements.
- Participate in accident investigations and risk mitigation measures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Reservoir Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in petroleum engineering in the oil & gas industry.
- Proven expertise in:
- Rocks and fluids analysis
- Reservoir development and management
- Drilling and completion operations
- Well performance, operations, and surveillance
- Surface facilities
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
