Wood is currently sourcing for a strong>Petrophysicist/strong> (Local National) to strengthen our team in Basra Iraq on 5 days on 2 days off rotation.

strong>Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:/strong>

  • Planning and stewardship of open and cased hole logging programs
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and integration of log, core, and production data to support field activities, including drilling, completion and work-over programs.
  • Provide petrophysical support to field operations, geologic and simulation models
  • Conduct reservoir management activities and participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams
  • Develop and mentor less experienced staff
  • Design formation evaluation programs for current and future drilling activities
  • Activities include: data preparation and data loading, open/cased hole log analysis, coordination of core analysis programs and integration of core data, stewardship of SCAL programs, development of capillary pressure models and mapping of fluid contacts.
  • Design and interpret production and saturation logging programs, including production logging in horizontal wells.

Desired Candidate Profile

strong>Expected:/strong>

  • Minimum of Bachelor s degree or equivalent in geological/engineering sciences, however, Master s or Doctorate s degrees are desirable
  • 10 year s work experience in Formation Evaluation /
  • Experience with log analysis programs (Techlog and Emeraude) are a must
  • Highly Experienced in interpretation of open hole logs, including advanced logs (NMR, FMI, etc.)/
  • Extensive Experience in interpretation of cased hole logs including production logging and pulse neutron logging
  • Communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledgeable in the following disciplines; stratigraphy, structure, seismic interpretation, petrophysics, production geology, and reservoir engineering
  • Worked closely with operation Geologist, Drilling and Wellworks team
  • Must have worked a good understanding of fluid properties and PVT measurements
  • Must have experience/knowledge of current computer software for petrophysical analysis in both open-hole and cased-hole interpretation
