PHARMACY ASSISTANT King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Gen. Org.)

Performs professional work in the preparation, filling, compounding, dispensing, and double checking of sterile and non sterile medications as applicable to the area of practice.

Restocks, operates, and trouble shoots pharmacy robotic equipment as applicable according to different pharmacy areas.

Maintains control and security of all medications including controlled, narcotic substances and supplies. Maintains dispensing and record keeping as per laws and regulations.

Pre-packages tablets, capsules, and oral liquid medications utilizing available repackaging machines /robotic equipment. Maintains complete required records and appropriate labelling procedures.

Checks, and monitors medication related activities/performance of new senior pharmacists, residents, trainees/students with guidance and support from a senior pharmacist as needed.

Orders/Maintains proper and sufficient inventory of drugs and supplies with regular monitoring of medication expiration dates. Prepares expired medications for disposal and completes electronic disposal requests in a timely manner.

Distributes medications to nursing units as required.

Performs nursing unit/clinic inspection, and outdated pharmacy stocks/supplies on a monthly basis as per assignment. Maintains and signs approved forms and records accordingly.

Maintains a clean working environment including hoods and countertops.

Participates/assists in conducting performance/quality improvement projects.

Follows all Hospital s related Policies and Procedures.

Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
