Roles & Responsibilities

King s College Doha is seeking a passionate and inspiring Physical Education Teacher to join our Prep or Senior School team, teaching pupils from Years 9 to 13. The successful candidate may also take on the role of Form Tutor.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a high-quality PE programme, foster a love of sport and fitness, and contribute to the wider life of the school. For the right candidate, leadership opportunities may be available.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

  • Foster a culture of high expectations and encourage pupils to achieve their potential.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum and schemes of work.

  • Support pupils academically and physically, including preparation for assessments where applicable.

  • Set challenging learning and developmental goals using varied strategies, resources, and technologies.

  • Provide regular feedback and encourage pupils to act on it.

Pastoral and Wider School Life

  • Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties as required.

  • Attend assemblies, departmental meetings, parents evenings, and school events.

  • Serve as a positive role model and contribute to the school s ethos and reputation.

  • Lead or participate in extra-curricular activities, sports teams, and school events.

Curriculum Development

  • Develop high-quality, creative, and inclusive PE activities.

  • Assist in sourcing and managing teaching resources.

  • Ensure continuity and progression across year groups.

  • Analyse pupil performance data and act to ensure outstanding progress.

  • Regularly review own practice and engage in continuous professional development.

Desired Candidate Profile

Excellent knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.(E)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education.(E)
  • Minimum of two years relevant teaching experience.(E)
  • Good degree from a recognised university.(E)
  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.(E)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.(E)
  • Ability to inspire pupils and foster a love of sport and learning.(E)
  • Willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life. (E)
  • Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).(D)
  • Experience working in the independent school sector.(D)
  • Emerging leadership qualities and potential for future leadership roles.(D)
