Roles & Responsibilities

School Description:

An established international school in Cairo, Egypt, is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Physics & General Science Teacher to join its Science Department. The school utilizes the American Curriculum and emphasizes scientific inquiry, experimental learning, and a solid foundation in physical sciences. This position requires teaching both foundational middle school science and specialized high school Physics, offering an opportunity to inspire students across key developmental stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging General Science lessons (incorporating Biology, Chemistry, and Physics concepts) to middle school students, aligned with American Curriculum standards.

  • Deliver rigorous Physics instruction at the high school level, including conceptual, college-preparatory, and potentially Advanced Placement (AP) Physics.

  • Design and execute meaningful laboratory activities that reinforce theoretical concepts and develop strong experimental skills.

  • Manage a safe and orderly classroom and laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

  • Assess student performance effectively and provide constructive feedback to promote deeper conceptual understanding.

  • Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum mapping, resource sharing, and school initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree (Master's preferred) in Physics, Physical Science, or a closely related engineering field.

  • Recognised teaching qualification or official teaching license from the US, Canada, or an equivalent body.

  • Proven experience teaching Physics and General Science within the American Curriculum framework.

  • Strong background in leading lab work and ensuring student understanding of scientific method and analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for making science relevant and exciting to students.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree (Master's preferred) in Physics, Physical Science, or a closely related engineering field.

Recognised teaching qualification or official teaching license from the US, Canada, or an equivalent body.
