Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Based on the provided process instructions, the procedure for cutting pipes and blanks includes the following steps:
1. Preparation for work
· Make sure that the equipment (cutting machine, tool, cooling systems, protection) is in good working order.
· Check the availability and compliance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Check the label on the pipe package: check the steel grade, dimensions, length, and the presence of a pipe passport (if required).
2. Control of incoming pipes
· Make sure that the pipes have been straightened and comply with regulatory requirements.
· Check the curvature of the pipes (deviation from straightness should not exceed permissible values).
· Measure the outer diameter of 2–3 pipes from the package using a micrometer type MK in three sections (at the ends and in the middle).
3. Setting up the equipment
· Select and install cutting tools (cutters, abrasive wheels, deburring brushes) in accordance with the steel grade and pipe size.
· Set up the stop for cutting to length:
o Pre-setting: manual or mechanized movement of the stop.
o Fine adjustment: after control cutting and measuring the length with a tape measure.
4. Cutting pipes
· Cutting should be carried out using one of the following types of equipment:
o Abrasive cutting machines " Radiak ", ALAOS.
o Cutting machines: 9A151, 9D151, 9D152, 91A11, etc.
o Spindleless machines ALBTS.
· For pipes made of steel according to TU 14-3-460, TU 14-3R-55 and export grades, use cutters with carbide plates.
· Cutting should be carried out without cooling emulsion (except for stainless steels).
· Control the length of the trim :
o At Radiak - up to 80 mm (in workshop No. 14 - up to 140 mm).
o At ALAOS - up to 80 mm (in workshop No. 14 - up to 100 mm).
o On cutting machines - up to 50 mm (in workshop No. 9 - up to 120 mm).
o On ALBTS - up to 70 mm.
5. Removing burrs
· Use:
o A folding lever with a cutter or a burr.
o Double-cutter chamfering machine .
o Brushes for ALAOS.
· Visually check each pipe for burrs.
6. Quality control after cutting
· Check:
o The length of the measuring pipes is measured with a tape measure.
o No ovalization or crumpling of the ends.
o No scratches, marks or dents.
o Perpendicularity of the cut.
· Measure the outer diameter at the points where the chuck clamps (selectively, 2–3 pipes from the package).
7. Resolving inconsistencies
· If defects are found :
o Replace the tool.
o Adjust the clamping device, steady rests, roller tables.
o Check and adjust the stop.
o Replace the brush or deburring tool.
8. Documentation
· Write in the log:
o Date, shift.
o Pipe sizes, package number.
o Number of acceptable and rejected pipes.
o Comments on quality.
9. Delivery of products
· Transfer the pipes to the UKK for control.
· Make sure that all pipes in the package are marked and comply with ND.
· Attach a label to the package (according to the identification instructions).
Safety requirements:
· Use PPE: special clothing, protective glasses, gloves.
· Do not allow work on faulty equipment.
· Observe the operating rules of the machines.
· Immediately report any discrepancies or accidents to the master
Desired Candidate Profile
CANDIDATES SHOULD BE PHYSICALLY FIT AND HEALTHY, AS THEY WILL BE WORKING IN COLD WEATHER. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE 05-07 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE SAME FIELD.
THE CANDIDATE SHOULD COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH.
CANDIDATE AGE SHOULD BE 25-45 YEARS OF AGE ONLY—(STRICTLY).
