Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for the operation and maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of pipeline pre-commissioning equipment, including suction pumps, flooding pumps, chemical injection units, air compressors, aftercoolers, and air dryers. Ensures equipment reliability and readiness throughout the pre-commissioning campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor pre-commissioning equipment as per procedures and supervisor’s instruction.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment used in pipeline pre-commissioning.
- Inspect and service pumps, compressors, dryers, and associated components before, during, and after operations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and carry out necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain equipment service records and assist in spare parts inventory tracking.
- Ensure proper alignment, coupling, sealing, and leak checks on all equipment connections.
- Coordinate with operators and supervisors for smooth handover and operation readiness.
- Adhere to safety practices and permit-to-work procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic for pumps, compressors, and dryers in oil & gas or pipeline pre-commissioning projects. With Hands-on experience with operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of:
Ø Centrifugal Pumps (e.g., Caprari 500m³/hr with CAT C27 Acer engine or similar),
Ø HP Piston Pumps (e.g., MIDIS/Woma 550 ARP with CAT C18 Acer or similar),
Ø Diesel Generators (e.g., Atlas Copco with Perkins 1104C engine or similar),
Ø Air Compressors (e.g., Atlas Copco XRYS 1260 CD7 or similar),
Ø Desiccant Air Dryers (Twin-pot, 1600 scfm+).
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safe work practices.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Physically fit for onshore site conditions.
- Good communication in English language and teamwork skills.
