Roles & Responsibilities

The Piping Quality Control Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality and integrity of piping systems during fabrication, installation, and testing phases. This role involves inspecting materials, welds, and assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Inspect piping materials, components, and welding work to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API).
Review and verify welding procedures and welder qualifications related to piping works.
Perform visual inspections and supervise non-destructive testing (NDT) of piping welds, including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant tests.
Verify dimensional accuracy and alignment of piping systems and supports.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations on-site.
Identify and report defects, discrepancies, and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and documentation.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction teams to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field preferred.
Certification in Quality Control or Welding Inspection (e.g., AWS CWI, NACE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Proven experience (3+ years) as a Quality Control Inspector in piping fabrication and construction.
Good knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, API 570, etc.).
Familiarity with NDT methods and inspection tools.
