Piping Supervisor

To organize and directly supervise the actives of pipe work section personnel in the pipe workshop or on board to ensure cost effective repairs are in accordance with the customer’s specification and to acceptable working practices.

• Receive information from Piping Work Preparator and prepare work schedules and labor requirements to

meet intended workload.

• Assist the Piping Engineers and Pipe Work Section Head in the preparation of programs.

• Assist the Piping Work Preparator with initial identification of work; discuss any possible problems with

Owners Representative / Ship Repair Coordinator.

• Liaise with the Piping Work Preparator on items received in workshop or onboard, discuss any

• Possible problems with Piping Engineers/Piping Section Head.

• Closely supervise and assist with technical advice those Pipe Fitters/Welders allocated under his

supervision, either on board or in workshop.

• Notify Ship Repair Coordinator when attendance of Class Surveyor is required, attend Class Inspections

and assist as required.

• Advice Piping Work Preparator of additional work as it arises.

• Liaise with other trade Supervisors on co-ordination of inter trade involvement and to schedule

completion of repairs.

• Pass all Test results taken to Pipe Work Section Head and Quality Control Engineer.

• Record defects during repairs and hand over to Piping Engineer for corrective action

• Evaluations.

• Maintain a tight discipline of those personnel under his supervision.

• Maintain / implement Company Safety procedures.

• Report regularly on progress/problems to Piping Engineer/Section Head.

• Oversee the work of any “Lump Sum” Contractors and advise Piping Section Head of their progress.

• On request attend daily on-board progress report.

• Look after the availability of tools for safe and efficient execution of repairs.

• Ensure all works done are to an acceptable standard and within the Company’s Quality

• Control procedures.

• Ensure a high standard of order and cleanliness is maintained throughout the working areas.

• Advise Section Head on any maintenance requirements to tools and equipment.

• To clearly write turnover report between shifts.

• To ensure an acceptable ISO standards of Quality, Environmental, OHSMS and Security Management

System and American petroleum Institute (API) Q1 are maintained in accordance with recognized working

practices and the company’s QEHS&S manual and policy.

• To ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.

• To prepare an incomprehensive report / statement in the case of incident
