Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for development projects
- Analyze zoning codes, land use regulations, and municipal planning requirements
- Prepare planning reports, presentations, and recommendations
- Research demographic, economic, and market data to inform planning decisions
- Evaluate development scenarios and alternatives
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants on project planning
- Coordinate with municipal planning departments and regulatory agencies
- Support entitlement processes including rezoning, variances, and permits
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for planning phases
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Present planning concepts and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Participate in public meetings and community engagement sessions
- Communicate planning strategies to multidisciplinary project teams
- Build relationships with local planning officials and community groups
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare planning applications and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal planning regulations
- Maintain project files and planning documentation
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting development projects
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or related field
- Experience with commercial real estate or development projects preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Knowledge of planning software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Understanding of zoning codes and land use regulations

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Project management capabilities
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments
