Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Oversee project control functions including scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting, and risk management to ensure that construction projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain project integrity and provide accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Lead the project control team responsible for scheduling, cost estimation, and budgeting, and develop and implement project control procedures to ensure effective project management and execution.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera software (or similar tools), identify the critical path and task dependencies, and ensure project timelines are realistic and achievable.
- Oversee the development of accurate cost estimates and project budgets; monitor project expenditures and ensure the project remains within budgetary constraints.
- Identify and assess potential risks to project success, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project outcomes.
- Monitor and control project progress, cost, and schedule; prepare detailed reports for project stakeholders; provide updates on project status, risks, performance against the baseline schedule, and progress on mitigation actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure that all project control aspects are aligned with project goals.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics for project control; regularly review and adjust KPIs to ensure they accurately reflect project objectives and progress.
- Provide guidance and support to Construction Project Managers on project control activities, ensuring that project teams are equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to manage project controls effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve project control processes and systems, and implement best practices and innovations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project controls.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university; a Master s degree in Business Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Project Control with expertise in scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Native Arabic speaker preferred.
