Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To develop, monitor, and control project schedules for building construction projects, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and timely completion of works in line with contractual obligations, company policies, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop baseline project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
    • Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), activity coding, and logic sequences.
    • Identify critical path and milestones for timely project execution.
    • Monitor, update, and revise schedules as per site progress and changes.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track and report project progress against the baseline schedule.
    • Analyze variances and delays, providing recovery plans and corrective actions.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
    • Prepare dashboards and S-curves for progress visualization.
  • Resource & Cost Planning
    • Coordinate with project teams to forecast manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
    • Integrate cost and resource data with the schedule for earned value management (EVM).
    • Monitor productivity and efficiency to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Coordination & Communication
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to align schedules.
    • Attend progress and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
    • Highlight potential risks, delays, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Claims & Extension of Time (EOT)
    • Assist in the preparation of claims, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and delay analysis.
    • Provide detailed records of delays and disruption events.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure project schedules comply with contract requirements and company standards.
    • Maintain updated planning records, logs, and correspondence.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Planning & Scheduling for Civil – Building Construction projects (towers, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments).
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and industry standards.
  • Familiar with contract conditions (FIDIC preferable).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in high-rise, large-scale, or complex building projects.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with leadership and coordination capabilities.
