Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To develop, monitor, and control project schedules for building construction projects, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and timely completion of works in line with contractual obligations, company policies, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop baseline project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
- Prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), activity coding, and logic sequences.
- Identify critical path and milestones for timely project execution.
- Monitor, update, and revise schedules as per site progress and changes.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report project progress against the baseline schedule.
- Analyze variances and delays, providing recovery plans and corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Prepare dashboards and S-curves for progress visualization.
- Resource & Cost Planning
- Coordinate with project teams to forecast manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
- Integrate cost and resource data with the schedule for earned value management (EVM).
- Monitor productivity and efficiency to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to align schedules.
- Attend progress and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
- Highlight potential risks, delays, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Claims & Extension of Time (EOT)
- Assist in the preparation of claims, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and delay analysis.
- Provide detailed records of delays and disruption events.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure project schedules comply with contract requirements and company standards.
- Maintain updated planning records, logs, and correspondence.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Planning & Scheduling for Civil – Building Construction projects (towers, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments).
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and industry standards.
- Familiar with contract conditions (FIDIC preferable).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in high-rise, large-scale, or complex building projects.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team player with leadership and coordination capabilities.
