Job Summary

The Scaffold Design Engineer will be responsible for designing safe, efficient, and cost-effective scaffolding systems for construction, maintenance, and industrial projects in compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations. This role involves preparing detailed scaffold drawings, calculations, and method statements while coordinating with project teams to ensure timely delivery of scaffold solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scaffold design drawings, 3D models, and calculations based on project specifications and site requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant international standards (e.g., BS EN 12811, OSHA) and company safety policies.
• Conduct structural analysis to determine scaffold load capacity, stability, and safety factors.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for scaffold materials.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and contractors to clarify design details and resolve technical issues.
• Carry out site inspections to assess feasibility, identify potential hazards, and verify installation quality.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and lifting/erection plans for scaffold works.
• Provide technical support and training to site teams on scaffold design and safety.
• Review and approve scaffold modifications proposed by the site team.
• Maintain accurate documentation for design records, calculations, and approvals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in scaffold design for construction, oil & gas, industrial, or maintenance projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software; knowledge of structural analysis tools preferred.
• Strong understanding of scaffold materials, erection methods, and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with BS EN 12811, TG20, OSHA, or other applicable scaffold standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
