Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs for date palm trees
Monitor and identify palm pests and diseases (e.g., Red Palm Weevil, Dubas bug, fungal infections)
Conduct regular field inspections and prepare technical reports on pest infestation levels and control measures
Plan and supervise pest control operations including chemical, biological, and mechanical treatments
Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of pesticides in compliance with MOCCAE and Municipality regulations
Coordinate with project teams, supervisors, and municipality inspectors for execution and approvals
Evaluate effectiveness of treatment programs and adjust strategies as required
Maintain accurate records of pesticide usage, application schedules, and field activities
Provide technical guidance and training to field staff on pest control techniques and safety procedures
Ensure compliance with HSE standards, including safe handling of chemicals and PPE usage
Support tendering and estimation teams with technical inputs related to plant protection scope
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Plant Protection, Plant Science, or related field
Minimum 4–7 years of experience in pest control, with specialization in date palm protection
Strong knowledge of palm tree pests, especially Red Palm Weevil control techniques (injection, fumigation, trapping, etc.)
Experience working on Municipality or government projects is highly preferred
Valid UAE driving license is an advantage
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge in pest identification and control methods
Experience in IPM programs and sustainable pest control practices
Analytical skills for assessing infestation levels and treatment effectiveness
Good reporting and documentation skills
Ability to manage field teams and coordinate operations efficiently
Knowledge of pesticide regulations and safe application practices
Language Requirements:
Fluent in Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking) – Mandatory
English is an advantage
